It’s All About the Money

I don’t have enough Disability Income to protect myself.

I don’t have Long Term Care to protect my spouse and myself.

I don’t have enough savings to even begin to think about retiring.

Why Not?

I don’t have enough life insurance because:

  • Life insurance costs too much.
  • I can’t afford to buy more life insurance; I need a new large screen TV.
  • I don’t want to think about dying, and I’m not planning to die too soon.
  • I will (may) get around to it some day.
  • Maybe my employer will give me group life insurance.
  • I plan to win the lottery.

I don’t have enough disability income insurance because:

  • Disability income insurance is very expensive.
  • I can’t afford to buy disability income insurance; look at what it is costing me just to fill my gas tank.
  • I don’t want to think about becoming disabled.
  • I will (may) get around to it some day, but I’m not planning on becoming disabled anytime soon.
  • Maybe my employer will give me group disability insurance.
  • I plan to win the lottery.

I don’t have long term care insurance because:

  • Long term care insurance is much too expensive; I’ll have to take my chances.
  • I can’t afford to buy long term care insurance; I’m still paying off my Lexus.
  • I don’t want to think about having to enter a nursing home. Nursing homes are awful places. They are smelly, depressing, and full of sick people.
  • If I’m ever really sick the government will take care of me. At least I hope they will. I’m planning to give away all my money so that I will qualify for Medicaid.
  • Maybe I’ll get around to buying long term care insurance when I’m older. Right now I’m much too young to need it.
  • I plan to win the lottery.

I don’t have enough savings to think about retiring because:

  • I still don’t earn enough to save enough to make any difference.
  • I can’t afford to save for my retirement, but someday I’m going to start for sure.
  • I can’t afford to save anything now; I just bought a new boat and the payments are killing me.
  • Interest rates are still so low that it just doesn’t pay to save.
  • I’m afraid of the market. It’s risky, it’s rigged against the little guy, and it’s full of crooks and inside traders.
  • I don’t need to save; I plan to win the lottery.

Have you ever heard any of these “objections”?

Of course you have, and your clients need you to help them:

  • buy the Life Insurance that they know they need.
  • buy the disability income insurance that they need to protect their incomes, their businesses, their homes, and their life savings.
  • buy the long term care insurance that they need to protect their life savings, preserve their dignity, and avoid having to see their spouse apply for welfare.
  • guarantee a comfortable retirement for themselves now, while there is still time and you can still help them to accomplish their dreams.
